What makes us different?

Play Therapy is so much more than just playing with toys. As a specialist in child centered play therapy, I know how to help children process emotions in a way that is specific for them. A child will express how they want and when they want. No child wants to feel upset and act out therefore play therapy can get them to a place where the acting out behaviors will usually lessen or disappear all together. As a registered play therapist, I create an environment that is safe, welcoming and child friendly.

Child Centered Play Therapy is remarkable in that it allows the child to process the things that are keeping them stuck in an emotionally unhealthy place.

I help parents understand the phases of play therapy so they know what to expect as their child goes through the process. It's very important to let the child complete the process and not quit therapy as they begin to feel better, or when behaviors improve. It often takes 25 to 30 sessions or more for the child to complete their play therapy process. Once complete, the child is typically better, happier and more well adjusted!

What does my child do in Play Therapy?

Because play is an expression of self, your child will choose what they want to do. They have an opportunity to  create art, use playdoh, build, use the sandtray, play with the dollhouse, play various games and so much more. I trust your child knows what they need to get to a happier place and I'm there to allow them space to do just that.

Tracy is a Registered Play Therapist who is a Child Centered Play Therapist. This is an indirect form of therapy for ages 3 to 12.
